Football fans rejoiced yesterday as the Summer break is over and the pre-season friendlies began. On what was a rather warm day, Blues fans travelled to Baldock to see the first team play in their first friendly against Codicote.

This was a big day for the new players to make their mark and Daniel Bond certainly did that by scoring the first goal. Friendlies are a great indication of how the team works together and the boys did us proud. A cross by Ricky Light resulted in an own goal from Codicote and Brett O’Conner took the final Blues score to 3. The final score was 3 – 1.

It was an exciting game and certainly whet the appetite for the upcoming season. Click here for photos from the game.
