This coming Bank Holiday Monday on May 1st, we are very pleased to announce the first ‘Oh My GOSH’ Charity Football match taking place at Hertford Town Football Club – raising much needed funds for Great Ormond Street Hospital.
Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH) is an international centre of excellence in child healthcare. Since its formation in 1852, the hospital has been dedicated to children’s healthcare and to finding new and better ways to treat childhood illnesses. Great Ormond Street Hospital receives more than 268,000 patient visits every year. Most of the children we care for are referred from other hospitals throughout the UK and overseas. There are 58 different clinical specialties at GOSH; the UK’s widest range of specialist health services for children on one site.
Many of you reading this today will have either been directly involved with the hospital for treatment or will know of someone that has.
The team at ‘Oh My GOSH’ are have been raising funds for the Hospital since last year. They have so far helped to raise over £2k with their first event supporting their own Holly Carey, who ran the London Marathon in a heroic time of 4 hrs 20 mins.
This will be their first Charity football game and they will need all the support they can get from the loyal Hertford Town FC support to make this a success and raise lots of money Great Ormond Street hospital.
This will be a fun day out and we encourage you all to bring your friends and families. It will be a suggested donation of £6 for entry and kids go free!
Doors open at 14.00 and KO at 15.00
We will have games, face painting and mini pitch to keep the little ones entertained (or adults, we’re not judging!). The Burger Van and Bar will be open along with a cake stand for the sweet-toothed among us.
We have an amazing line up of raffle prizes to be won, such as: Signed Arsenal Top, 1 night stay for 2 (incl Breakfast) at Hertford House Hotel, Cinema Tickets at Hertford Theatre, Family photoshoots, £50 gift voucher for Dead Swanky, Lunch & Drinks at Cinnabar, bottles of Fizz, Gym Passes, PT sessions and much more !
There will also be a half-time boot throwing competition, where participants will compete on pitch to throw the boot as far as they can. The winner wins a special prize. This makes for unbelievably hilarious entertainment (especially with all the over competitive dads).
Tyler Hatherly, who I’m guessing a lot of you know…., will be captaining an elite team representing Hertford Town FC and will be up against Matthew Harman representing GOSH. We have some fantastic players on show with what is set to be a very entertaining game.
The game will have special guest commentators who fancy themselves as the modern day Alan Partidge’s of football.
A reminder that all proceeds will be going directly to Great Ormond Street Hospital to support the vital work and research that they carry out. The funds are needed more than ever and you can be a part of supporting this great hospital by attending on Monday. You can check in on the fundraising progress of the match at www.justgiving.com/fundraising/ohmygoshmatch (or if you cannot join us, please leave us a message!)
We’d like to show our appreciation to the support shown for this event by Hertford Town FC has been admirable from both board level, volunteers and players. A special mention to Tyler and Loucas for helping get this event off the ground. You can all be very proud to a be a part of this fantastic club.
