It was a great footballing weekend for The Blues. As no competitive games were scheduled for the first team, the Gaffa invited Ware Sports FC to The Park on Saturday for a friendly. The atmosphere was relaxed and a fans made good use of the weather to sun themselves while cheering on their team. First team coach, Alex Ward, made the most of the friendly to have a stint on the pitch, much to the amusement of those watching. Click on the tweet below to see a picture of him making his debut:

Congratulations to the lads for winning 6 – 0. A great day was had by all!

Prior to the game, Gavin set aside some time to record the latest episode of “Hertford Town Talks”. See the frank interview below:

Saturday was even better for our Development Team who travelled to Holmer Green for a league game. While they only scored one goal (Mason Todd) in the 1 – 0 win, it was all that was needed to confirm that they are this year’s champions!! It was a very proud moment for gaffa Neil Draper, the boys and the club. Here they are celebrating after the match:

Well done to the team for a fantastic season. Their next game is a cup final on Wednesday at St Margaretsbury’s ground. It’s just down the road so let’s try and give them a huge, cheering crowd to play in front of.

It was a busy week for the EJA teams too. On Wednesday evening, the U13s welcomed Potters Bar Town to The Park. Their 4 – 1 win over the local rivals, has cemented their 2nd position in their league. Well done boys!

It was a slightly earlier kick off the U14s on Sunday when they had a home game against Bishop Stortford. The boys showed good attitude and focus and won the game 8 – 1. This result has kept them at the top of their league. Congratulations to the team.

Finally, Stevenage Ladies had a long away trip on Sunday when they travelled to Gillingham. It was a great performance by the girls who showed discipline, and worked hard. They ultimately lost 5 – 1 to a very good side.
