The first game of the week was on Saturday when Hertford Town welcomed Holmer Green to The Park. It was a very special day at the club as Bengeo Tigers hosted a charity day in memory of Laurie Carroll who played for one of their teams. 569 members of the football family turned out in force to honour the young lad, setting an attendance record for Bengeo Tigers as well as being the highest number of fans for HTFC in recent years. The crowd’s appreciation of a fantastic young lad who had a zest for life and a love for football, inspired both teams to fight hard on the pitch. While a win would have been preferred, the 1 – 1 draw was hard earned and adds a point to the league tally. See the match page for the match report, player stats and video.

A massive thanks to everyone who joined us in creating positive and lasting memories. For Laurie.

It was a tough day for the development team too as they faced their first defeat in many games. They travelled to Wodson Park where they were beaten 2 – 1. They are however the Champions Elect and only need 1 more point to win the league so start chilling that champagne!

Sunday was a very busy day for our remaining teams. First up where the U13s who travelled to Redbridge for a league game. With all 5 goals (we won 4 – 1) in the first 45 minutes, it could be the best first half of football the boys have played! Based on this performance, their (current) second place league position is well deserved!

The U14s took to the pitch next when they welcomed Godmanchester to The Park. The game saw 2 of the top 3 teams battling for position and the 2 – 0 win was a massive result for the boys. The 3 points also sees them sitting top of their league table.

Stevenage Ladies also go from strength to strength under the management of Blues ‘keeper Reece Buck. In a great display of football against Denham United, the ladies won 4 – 1! #ThisGirlCan
