While the weather decided against any mid-week games, the sun briefly came out on Saturday which meant a double-bill for The Boys in Blue. First up, the first team welcomed Edgware Town to The Park for their first visit to our ground in this league. The Wares brought a decent following with them which meant that from the first whistle, singing was echoed around the ground. Not even a sudden hail storm could dampen the spirits although that may be the quickest fans have ever moved during a game when there was a sudden rush for shelter.

Hertford Town made 2 new signings during the week, Connor Scully and Ramone Cassidy-Sinclair and the game saw Connor making his debut for the club as well as notching up his first assist. With Brett O’Connor being the goal scorer of the day, Hertford added 3 points to their league tally in a 2 – 0 win. For the match photos, player stats and the video, please see the match page.

The Development Team had a bit further to travel for their game on Saturday when they journeyed up the A1 to Biggleswade. These boys are flying in their league and are definitely ones to watch following their 3 – 1 win. They certainly made their Gaffer proud and he tweeted the following:

@njdrapes: Great result for my boys today winning 3-1. Goals from @JBartlett1989 @masongeorgetodd & Dylan Plati #getinthere#happygaffa#coyb

The final Blues Boys to play this week were our U14 EJAs who had an away game at Cockfosters on Sunday. Well done to the boys who won their game 5 – 2. Next up for them is the semi-final in the Herts U14s County Cup Semi Finals. This is at home next Sunday so come on down, have a bacon sandwich and cheer on the lads.

Thanks to the annoying wet stuff that keeps coming out of the sky, no other games took place this week.

Following a Winter break, our Inclusive Team will start training again this Saturday. Besides the football, I am sure there will be plenty of catching up and gossiping. If you would like to get involved, or know someone that would love to train with the team, please contact the club.

Following the game on Tuesday night, our Player of the Month poll will be opened. This will run until Saturday. Keep an eye on Twitter for the link, or if you are not a fan of the 144 character media, check here on Wednesday (probably in the evening as to my horror, I have to actually work during the day)

Last, but by far the best news of the week, we made a little film to show why we think local football is so important. We hope you like it.

Please click on the video to open it in YouTube so you can view it in a bigger screen.

Please keep an eye on our Twitter and Facebook pages in case any games are postponed.

Have a great week and COYB!!!
