On Tuesday night, while fans were donning every bit of thermal gear they own, the groundsmen were keeping a very wary eye on a pitch that seemed to get whiter with every passing minute. Thankfully the cold only turned the grass a bit crunchy and the ground itself did not freeze. The officials agreed that it was good to play and The Blues took on St Margaretsbury in a league game. While the cold got to some fans / dogs who watched most of the game through the clubhouse windows, the majority toughed it out to cheer on the team in their 4 – 0 win. For the match report, stats, video and photos, please see the match page.

On Sunday, the U13 EJAs travelled to Romford. It was a game of 2 halves. The boys were winning 1 – 0 at half time but Romford proved to be a well drilled team and Hertford lost 2 – 1. Heads up and on to the next one boys!!

Unfortunately, that’s where the football ended. Winter finally took its toll on pitches all over the country and thanks to the frozen ground, the remaining games that were advertised for this week had to be postponed.

It was a big week for hungry tummies. On Wednesday, our new catering facility arrived.

This will be up and running soon to help you grab some grub while missing as little action on the pitch as possible.

Due to the Arctic weather that has been predicted for this week, please keep an eye on our Twitter and Facebook pages in case any games get relegated to the freezer.

Have a great week and COYB!!!
