A very chilly Saturday saw The Blues take on local rivals Hoddesdon Town. Cheered on by nearly 300 fans, there were chances at both ends of the pitch. After two fantastic saves from ‘keeper Jayden Purdue on 84 minutes, the fans were happy to leave with a point after a 0 – 0 draw. Well done to Davy Edmee who made his first team debut during the match!

Thanks to the club’s statistician, we can report that:

The Blues remain unbeaten in away league matches at Hoddesdon after today’s draw.

While the first team were on the road on Saturday, the development team welcomed Welwyn Garden City Development to The Park for the Development Division Challenge Trophy. Following 2 goals from Mason Todd and 1 from Adam Wright, the boys won 3 – 2 and have progressed to the semi-finals! The next round of the cup will be at home on the 7th February against Colney Heath Development. If you won’t be following the first team to Tring that night, make your way to They Park to cheer the boys on to the final. For photos from yesterday’s match, please click here.

While last week’s report claimed that it would be a Super Sunday with 3 football games, in reality, only 1 took place. This was the Hertford Town U13 EJA team who travelled to Romford for the quarter final of the Patron’s Cup. Romford proved to be a good team and the Hertford boys are thrilled to be the 5 – 2 winners. Congratulations on getting through to the semi-finals!

The U14s did not have a game. There was no postponement or rearranging of a fixture, just a silly website lady. Apologies if you went to a game that never happened! They are however scheduled to play next Sunday at home – see below for details. This has been double and triple checked so if it doesn’t happen, I will blame someone else!!

Stevenage Ladies were gutted not to play today. They were due to take on Watford Ladies Youth in the FA County Cup but unfortunately the weather had different ideas. This game has not yet been rescheduled but the ladies are at The Park this Sunday so come and cheer them on.
