Happy New Year Blues Fans. We hope you have a successful one.

While most fans were still stuffed with turkey, the first team saw out the end of the year with a trip down the road to Welwyn Garden City on the 27th. It was a bitterly cold day but that didn’t stop 374 fans from going along to support their teams. It was a difficult match against 4th placed Welwyn and a frustrating last minute goal by the home team, saw The Blues gaining a point in a 1 – 1 draw. For the match report, photos and videos – including a guest appearance by David James – see the match page.

The new year was welcomed in on Monday when The Blues welcomed FC Broxbourne Borough to The Park. The team seemed to be off colour when they went 1 goal down at the beginning of the second half. However, they found the motivation needed and ended the game in a 2 – 1 win gaining 3 vital points while 2 of our closest rivals (London Colney and Welwyn Garden City) both lost. The gap at the top of the table is narrowing and The Blues have games in hand! For the match report, photos and videos of the game that was closely watched by 330 screaming fans, see the match page.

The boss showed his thanks to all who attended with the following tweet:

@gavin_kelsey: ‏A big thanks to all who braved today’s game @HertfordTownFC. Once again a wall of noise. #TopSupport
