It was another busy week for the club with both the first and development teams getting in on the action. The first team started it off with their Herts Senior Challenge Cup tie against Kings Langley on Tuesday. While The Blues ultimately lost this game, the score was a very respectable 2-1 against a team 2 leagues higher. For player stats, a highlight video and a detailed match report, please see the match page.
A very chilly Saturday saw The Blue Army travel away to Hadley to support the first team in a nail-biting match which they won 2 – 1. While all focus was on the game, fans were briefly distracted when one of their own, in an attempt to retrieve the match ball for the boys, fell in a ditch to everyone’s great amusement. For football related photos, videos and player stats, please see the match page.
The Development Team also played on Saturday when they welcomed table-topping Cockfosters to The Park. The Blues walked away the worthy 3-0 winners. Many fans decided to prolong their football fest and stayed behind in the clubhouse after the game to watch Everton get thrashed on the big screen. The football didn’t end there. Sunday saw both EJA teams taking part in the League Challenge Cup. While the U14s were knocked out by Dagenham & Redbridge in a 3-4 loss, the U13s managed to win 4-3 after being 2-0 down at half time. Well done boys. Sunday also Stevenage Ladies take on Luton Town Ladies at The Park. It was a hard-fought match which saw Stevenage Ladies lose 2-0 at the final whistle.
