It is with profound sadness that we have to report that we have had to say goodbye to one of our own today.
Chris Sycamore (49) sadly died last night following a sudden illness on Tuesday.
Chris will be fondly remembered throughout Hertford as a family man, passionate youth coach, hardworking volunteer and lifelong fan at Hertford Town FC. His involvement with his own immediate community and that of the town as a whole will be sorely missed by everyone who knew him.
Chris coached Bury Rangers youth teams for 10 years with great success and was also an integral part of the initiation of Hertford Town’s inclusive football club on Saturday mornings. He rarely missed a session even with broken fingers!
Chris also had an interest in Hertford RFC and was a regular presence for the all of the annual music festivals around the town.
He was often seen riding around Hertford on his bike in shorts regardless of temperature or weather!
A man who would always go out of his way to help others.
His family, friends, neighbours and fellow fans from all around our little town will remember him for a long time with huge fondness.
Our sincere thoughts and sympathies are with his wife Angela and his young son Aeron during this difficult time.
Much love from everybody at Hertingfordbury Park.
Rest in peace Chris.
