Well you can’t say you don’t get value for money down at The Park… For just £6 on Saturday, you got five goals, chilly little mascots from Bengeo Tigers leading their heroes out, a penalty (missed), a red card plus yet more drama & controversy! We spoil you, we really do…
The Blues raced into a three-nil lead with the game looking all but over just after the interval with Barking missing a penalty after Harry had brought down their striker in the box but Barking hit back twice and bizarrely claimed a third when some of their players protested to the referee that a goalbound shot had crossed the line, gone through the net and back out the other side!
Hertford Town held firm and should have scored more on the day backed by the vociferous 202 huddled together in the freezing conditions in the noisy Stable End.
See the match page for stats and photos.
Skipper, Sam Ruff picked up the MOTM award and was gifted a commemorative keepsake by lifelong fan & groundsman, Mr Brian Jennings in the clubhouse following the game.
Brian also featured in the Herts Mercury match report and post-match interview with the Gaffa HERE.
So into Monday’s draw at FA HQ we went and were rewarded with another home tie against Essex Senior League side, FC Romania which will be played on Saturday, December 12th at 3pm replacing the prearranged SSML league fixture with Berkhamstead.
We are now one of the last 64 teams in the country to still be in with a chance of picking up The FA Vase at Wembley and the bookies are very generously pricing us at 50/1! We look capable of outscoring any side right now so that price might just be a little too generous.

Tomorrow night we return to league action with a tasty little local derby against our neighbours from St.Margaretsbury. Kick-off is 7.45pm so wrap up warm and get down to The Park and cheer the boys on to another 3 points.
